5th edition Streaming Festival 2010From December the 1st till the 5th 2010, this five day videoart event screened around 150 experimental, underground and obscure videos from more than 125 independent artists from all over the world.
This year the festival had its official opening at the PaardCafe in The Hague - the Netherlands.
And this edition spread its wings also to Italy, at the underground gallery from Visualcontainer the [.BOX] in Milan - Italy.
This 5th edition’s novelty was the introduction of the The Left Field Award film competition.
Alfredo Hisa with his film Nearby (9:20, 2010) was chosen by the jury as the winner of this first competition on the Streaming Festival.
" The jury was impressed by the observational skills of the director. The opening images of hanging laundry from similar windows had us hooked immediately and made us curious. The film contains striking and sometimes surprising images, from the train in the second scene to the glass floor in the second half. The director has a strong sense of composition and his use of the film frame is at times very playful. This film is a reminder to us all to look better at the world around us. To find the extraordinary in the ordinary. "
In no particular order, the other shortlisted artists
